"Hey There Delilah" by the Plain White T's
Released in May of 2006, "Hey There Delilah" is a romantic, acoustic guitar ballad written by the lead singer of the "Plain White T's," Tom Higgenson, and is about a girl and a boy in a long distance relationship and their longing for one another. The song speaks about how beautiful Delilah is to Tom, and how she makes him feel an overwhelming, blissful feeling of love despite being a thousand miles apart. He promises that he'll become a famous artist, visit her as often as he can, and eventually move to live together with her. The first verse starts off with lyrics sounding like the start to a letter, asking Delilah what is it like in New York City. Then, Tom compliments her by saying that she looks beautiful, and states that Times Square couldn't shine as bright as she does.
